#209 In which those LOSERS are sent packing

Fortunately for America, the protection of Air Force One is in the right hands. The man of wealth and taste has asserted that he never sleeps on the plane, as he is always keeping an eye out for enemy missiles. What he would do if he actually saw an enemy missile is unclear, but at least the reporters and aides in the back of the plane can sleep soundly knowing that the demigod in the front of the plane is keeping his unending vigil.

#124 Parks and Bloviation

Trump’s visit to the UK was the usual collection of press conference blathering and warnings that the windmills are attacking the whales and remarking in surprise how well all the natives speak English, but it also brought us the proof of what hitherto had only been common chitchat: the man cheats at golf. You can see all the common chitchat with a simple Google search, and most of it is pretty entertaining, but you can also now see a video of a caddy earning his princely tip by conveniently dropping a fresh ball away from the rough so the Chief Executive can get a clear shot of it. A couple of things about this are notable. First, Trump himself doesn’t do the actual ball manipulation; he has his caddy do it for him. And second, he cheats at golf in Scotland. Scotland! This is like eating Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in Italy, or not eating poutine in Canada. It is an insult to the core essence of the country. Or start philosophizing about the ontological aspects of art and history. It’s your call. The Smithsonian holds about 137 million objects across its various collections, which means that the man of wealth and taste has a lot more cherrypicking to do before he can fully Americanize the place. We’ve already pointed out that we’re not so sure that his Make Slavery Fun Again idea will hold up, and we can’t wait to see his take on the lighter side of the Holocaust Museum.
